Ice Fog at Noon

Some nasty ice fog from last Monday.
It’s been cold (-40ยบ); it’s been warm (13˚), and I've been on leave for over a week now. Can't say I've been outdoors much - just to snowboard last night - I've been working non-stop painting, and reviewing my private journal. Two new pieces finished! I'm still in the middle of one that I want to place in a show next month.

Arctic Survival

First painting completed of 07. I attended Air Force Arctic Survival School in OCT05. While in the field it stayed an average -20˚F. We learned how to build a wet and dry fire, snare wild game, forage, signal rescue aircraft, shoot flares at 20 below while in full winter gear, build a smoke generator, and how to build a shelter. Can't say in hind sight I had much fun, but I learned how to survive.

Does This Ever Happen to You?

Every time I paint something, this happens - an unconscious habit. At least this time it was only gouache.
